Hi, I’m D’Loraine—a writer, editor and content strategist based in Toronto.

I love great stories and I love telling them, too, through clear and impactful copy from a relatable and inclusive POV. Like many a newly minted J-school grad, I started my career in print media, working behind-the-scenes fact-checking features, managing deadlines and overseeing the creation of magazines from start to finish. (Yes, I know what it’s like trying to frantically close an issue in the throes of fashion week, TIFF, and every other event on the cal during that notoriously stressful sliver of September. And no, we did not miss our deadline.)

After a brief stint as a freelance writer during the pandemic, I made the leap into brand copywriting, landing a gig at Indigo that allowed me to serve as both writer and editor. As the Associate Editor, I worked cross-functionally with departments to ensure brand voice was woven across all digital marketing channels, be it snappy TikTok caption or a website landing page. I also contributed to renewing the brand’s Pinterest page, working alongside the Social Lead to help develop and execute a fresh new strategy. 

As for right now? I’m back in the freelance space, contributing lifestyle and pop culture pieces to outlets like The Kit, CBC Life, and more, and working with brands to help them tell their stories.
